Daily Community Meal

The Kitchen is a response to hunger in the Rogers Park community of Chicago and represents a unique collaboration between over thirty religious and secular organizations in the metropolitan area that significantly support the Kitchen financially, with in-kind donations of food and hands-on volunteer assistance. Together, GNCK and these partner organizations served over 54,000 hot meals last year to an average of 120 patrons per night.

Anyone in need of a meal is welcome at the Good News Community Kitchen and there are several reasons why GNCK is widely regarded as the "go to" place for those in need of a community meal: we are the only community kitchen in the Chicago metropolitan area that serves a daily hot meal every day of the year, the meals we serve are substantial and nutritious, and our patrons are always served with an attitude of utmost respect and dignity where a high priority is placed on creating a welcoming and safe community meal space.

Monday through Friday our doors open at 4:30PM and the meal is served from 5:30-6:30PM. Saturday and Sunday our doors open at 4:30PM and the meal is served from 5:00-6:00PM.
