Court Ordered and Other Community Service

GNCK serves as a site for youth and adult probationers to complete court ordered community service for non-violent offenses such as traffic violations and other minor offenses. Generally, probationers are referred by city and suburban courts to complete between 10 and 40 service hours and when the service is completed GNCK submits a verification letter to the probation officer or directly to the court. GNCK also offers its case management services to these probationers and each year, the Cook County Courts acknowledge GNCK for this partnership by awarding a Certificate of Appreciation.

Many grade schools, high schools and universities also require their students to complete community service in order to graduate. These partnerships instill a greater sense of community to the student and provides an opportunity for the Kitchen to increase our volunteer and donor base strengthening our ties to the wider community.
